Sweet Potato Chips

Looking for a grain-free and great-tasting snack? You’ve come to the right place! Everybody’s always in the search of a snack that is healthy and delicious, but it’s not always that simple. Even in “healthy” chips, sometimes there’s ingredients lurking that we don’t want (or need) to put in our bodies. So why not make them yourself?
I’m all about making guilt-free indulgences, and these are one of my personal favorites (along with a list of many others). These sweet potato chips truly satisfy the craving for chips in a healthier way! They’re addictive, crispy and impossible to stop eating… Until you look down at the plate and see that they disappeared, I always hate when that happens! 🙄
When it comes to making sweet potato chips at home, there’s two things you have to get down:
(1). They need to have the perfect crunch, you don’t want to end up snacking on soggy sweet potatoes.
(2). You don’t want to deep fry them in oil, you want to oven-fry them
Sure, it’s a lot more work and time on your part using the oven, but it is SO worth it when you see the final product!
So let’s whip up this savory, guilt-free treat. I know that they will bring a smile to your face!

Sweet Potato Chips
Ingredients
  1. 2 sweet potatoes
  2. 2 tbsp. coconut oil
  3. 1/4 tsp. seasonings of choice
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees (Farenheit) and place your oven rack to the center.
  2. Thoroughly rinse and dry your sweet potatoes, then slice them as thin as desired. If you own a mandolin, you can use this to get uniform cuts, but if not just use a sharp knife
  3. Toss the slices in coconut oil to coat, then sprinkle with desired seasonings. Lay out in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Allow to cook for about one hour, flipping the chips halfway to ensure an even crisp on both sides.
  5. Remove when they are done and golden brown, serve immediately.
  6. Enjoy!
Notes
  1. My seasoning of choice is Bragg Sprinkle (24 herbs and spices)
